George Simion mulțumește Administrației Trump pentru retragerea României din programul Visa Waiver: „Un avertisment adecvat”

Must Read

George Simion, the AUR presidential candidate, expressed gratitude to the Trump Administration for maintaining visa requirements for Romanian citizens and definitively removing Romania from the Visa Waiver program.

“The message from Washington was very strong. We thank Homeland Security and the State Department for sending a clear warning to Romania that it is no longer a democracy and can no longer be part of the Visa Waiver Program,” George Simion stated in an interview with MAGA influencer Jack Posobiec.

Visa Waiver, suspended for Romanians

The Biden Administration approved, on January 9, allowing Romanians to enter the United States without visas; however, circumstances changed after Donald Trump was elected president. On March 25, the measure was suspended for review, and less than 48 hours before the first round of the presidential elections, the response from Washington came: “The Department of Homeland Security, in consultation with the State Department, has revoked Romania’s designation in the Visa Waiver Program. Romania may be reconsidered for inclusion in the Visa Waiver in the future if it meets the legal eligibility criteria.”

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security asserts that Romania’s exclusion from the Visa Waiver program occurred in the context of efforts to secure borders and combat illegal immigration.
